Charlotte Kertrestel will join 11 other students from Rugby High School on the life changing trip to Namibia to help develop and  work in a small community where they will teach children and build much needed facilities as well as embarking on impressive expeditions across Namibia.

Peter Laybourn, Managing Director of ISL, said:
"Our company vision is to help develop a sustainable world economy.  The invaluable work carried out by volunteers such as Charlotte on schemes such as this make an extremely positive impact on developing communities and ultimately contribute towards developing sustainable economies throughout the developing world."

The trip will provide many cultural challenges as well as physical; an impressive 90km trek across the vast Fish River Canyon and journeys across the red sands of Namib Desert will allow the team to see first hand the beauty of Namibia.

Charlotte has already raised over £700 towards the trip after completing a 10km run and various car boot and cake sales. A quiz night at her local running club raised £300 and a similar amount is hoped to be raised through a school disco. She said,
"ISL has offered to match the amount of money that I raise for the trip, which has proved an enormous help towards my fundraising."

On the 14th of March, the team will go on a training weekend in Buxton to prepare them in the skills needed for camping and trekking.
