Trevor Knipe - Director of NISP Northern Ireland

Trevor joined ISL from Invest Northern Ireland where he was Manager of Sustainable Development, helping NI businesses become more resource efficient and championing the development of Environmental Management Systems. He has extensive knowledge of industry in NI and is well known in Government circles having been involved in the development of the NI Waste Management and Sustainable Development Strategies and represented industry interests in the development of environmental legislation.Trevor's training is in chemistry with a particular interest in waste analysis and treatment, contaminated land investigation and remediation and waste recovery and recycling. He is a Chartered Waste Manager and Chartered Environmentalist, past Chair of IEMA in NI and was a member of the NI Waste Management Advisory Board overseeing the delivery of the Waste Management Strategy.Trevor developed and managed the successful NI Waste Exchange Bureau, a fore-runner to Industrial Symbiosis, from 1993 to 2004 and managed a number of resource efficiency clubs helping businesses across NI save money and improve their environmental performance.
