Tanja Bisgaard

Founder of Novitas Innovation

Tanja Bisgaard is the founder of Novitas Innovation, a consultancy that works with organisations and companies from the public as well as private sector on issues related to sustainable innovation and innovation policy. She has a background as Manager of Innovation Policy Analysis from the public think tank FORA, at the Danish Ministry of Business, and has worked on projects for the OECD, Nordic Council of Ministers and the Danish Business Authority. Recent work includes an analysis of how companies can change their business models to become greener and the implications for policy, compiled in the work Green Business Model Innovation, and a presentation of case studies for the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) found in the publication The Business Case for Eco-Innovation.

Gary Foster

Director - Natural Catalyst Solutions Limited

Industrial Symbiosis and Resource Efficiency Expert Gary Foster is an independent Associate who has recently spent 6 ½ years in a multi-disciplinary consultancy AECOM, based in the UK. This has given him experience of a wide variety of private and public sector clients and sustainability projects. Gary was Regional Director (South) for NISP, Service Director of a Carbon Trust Central Government Carbon Management, Project Director of a CBI Carbon Management programme including 17 blue chip corporates and has been on several international assignments in Europe, Singapore, Australia and China.   An engineer manager by training in the aviation sector, for the last 2 years he has been chairing and co-ordinating an intensive programme of resource efficiency activity of a Resources, Waste and Recycling Panel (comprising 12 major material suppliers as well as dozens of other suppliers) of a top 10 UK house-builder.


Susan Juned PhD, MSc, BSc

Director, GreenWatt Technology

Susan Juned is an independent Associate with expertise in resource efficiency, environmental policy and local government.

Susan has experience of working with a wide variety of private and public sector clients and sustainability projects. She has been Local Government Liaison for NISP, set up the BREW Centre for Local Government and is currently a Director of Greenwatt Technology and the Chair of Directors of an energy efficiency advice charity Act on Energy. She has a track record of effective working with academic groups advising on impact assessments and practical implementation strategies for their research programmes and also has experience of Government working groups on resource efficiency. Susan is also an experienced designer and leader of consultation workshops.

Recent experience includes an assessment of rural transport fuel alternatives for the Royal Agricultural Society of England and bioenergy and waste policy assessment for local government. Susan is a biologist by training.


Siyka Radilova

MA in Social Anthropology of Development

Siyka Radilova holds an MA degree in Social Anthropology of Development from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London (Merit). She has conducted a research on the factors behind forced and economic migration from the Global South to developed countries with main focus on the impact on women and children. She has worked on a number of projects in the field of sustainable development and energy efficiency and was introduced to the NISP programme of International Synergies. Combining her interests she got involved in extensive research on post disaster/ post conflict resource management and the possibilities of adding value to best existing practises by applying Industrial Symbiosis toolkit and expertise. She has an interest to explore opportunities not only in the emergency response after disaster/ crisis but also in the medium to long term recovery. Main focus of hers is also disaster risk reduction and resilience building.

Martin Gibson phD MIoD MSB CBiol

Founder and Manager of Earthly Gains

Martin Gibson is a commercially minded sustainability and environmental professional who is known for bringing cost and reputational benefits to business through improved environmental performance. He has worked with companies in a wide range of sectors including business services, retail, manufacturing, infrastructure and construction. He ran the UK government’s Envirowise resource efficiency programme for 10 years, helping UK businesses make considerable savings and environmental improvements. Martin’s collaborative approach has helped drive success in improving understanding within companies and with their supply chains.
