Ian Humphreys

Chief Operating Officer

An experienced operations and environmental professional, Ian is a Chemistry graduate of the University of Sheffield, a Chartered Environmentalist and qualified Senior Environmental Auditor. He leads our NZC Scope 3 supply chain solution delivery and has nearly 20 years’ experience of operations, initially in the food and drink sector, prior to joining International Synergies Ltd (ISL) in 2007.

Ian now heads up ISL operations as Chief Operating Officer, where his career has seen him in a diverse range of roles in the company in operations, project management and the circular economy. He led a key part of our groundbreaking National Industrial Symbiosis Programme and has designed and delivered a range of cost and carbon reduction programmes for businesses in the UK and internationally.

During his time in the food and drink sector Ian also managed the successful application for a complex site environmental permit, has practical experience of waste management and licensing, energy management, carbon accounting, delivery of environmental training packages and managing key stakeholder dialogues on a challenging, heavy industrial site.
